Our story begins near the home of Blues and Rock & Roll – Memphis, Tennessee – a region of rich musical culture where Anthony Ball was born and raised. After moving to Fayetteville to study business at the University of Arkansas, Anthony continued his career as a musician, performing with world-class talents like The Platters, Bobby Rush, Joey Williams of the Blind Boys of Alabama, and many others. Anthony and his wife Annita built numerous connections in the music industry and discovered a gap they could fill right here in Northwest Arkansas. Smoothman Music Production was established in 2012 to meet the need for high-end talent management in Northwest Arkansas and the entire Mid-South region.
With their experience both in business and the music industry, Anthony and Annita Ball bring excellence and creativity to SMP that allows them to cater to clients with any size budget. SMP has produced shows for Walmart Inc, Procter & Gamble, Crystal Bridges, and Sam’s Club, as well as countless private parties. Whether bringing in artists like Montell Jordan, Morris Day, Fred Hammond, or Ohio Players for large corporate events and festivals or providing solo instrumentalists or ensembles for weddings and small gatherings, Smoothman Music Production is ready to bring your vision to life!
Smoothman Music Production was founded in April 2012 by Anthony and Annita Ball when they were students at the University of Arkansas. Anthony studied music business while Annita studied early childhood development. Both heavily involved in the music and art community, they saw an opportunity to bring higher-end talent management and booking agency services to Northwest Arkansas, providing job opportunities for working musicians. Anthony’s background near the “Home of Blues and Rock & Roll” enriched his experiences along with working with world-class talents like The Platters, Bobby Rush, Joey Williams of the Blind Boys of Mississippi, among others. Using that knowledge, they have produced concerts and festivals with artists such as Montell Jordan, Morris Day, Fred Hammond, Ohio Players, among others. This wealth of show business experience is now channeled into Smoothman Music Production to produce top events and bands in the Mid-South region. SMP excels in working with clients of all budget sizes – whether an event has an audience of 100 or thousands; SMP has the experience and creativity to bring your vision to life through music!
